As Afrika Desk’s head of events, Neliswa Gongqa is responsible for end-to-end event management. She is involved in conceptualisation, planning, third-party engagement, execution and reporting on events.
Ms Gongqa has spearheaded the successful execution of numerous programmes and operations, leveraging her expertise in applying registration and accreditation processes in line with state requirements and protocols.
Her role entails managing, coordinating and executing high-level events; brainstorming and implementing event plans and concepts; handling budgeting and event financials; liaising and negotiating with vendors and service providers; handling logistics; managing branding and communications collateral; developing event feedback surveys; ensuring event compliance in line with SASREA; and handling post-event matters.
Ms Gongqa’s personal network in government and business is vast, and she is adept at connecting the right people for any project. She enjoys the trust of people who matter, allowing her to get things done.
